Check Your Vehicle’s Battery

You may not think about your vehicle’s battery. However, this critical component to your vehicle is responsible for powering your vehicle’s electronics. Without a working battery, your vehicle will not be able to operate. Therefore, you will want to carefully inspect your vehicle’s battery to ensure that it is in working order. Here’s what you should look for:

• Check for Signs of Corrosion - Old batteries tend to have orange or green spots on the battery and the battery connectors. Make sure that your vehicle’s battery is free of corrosion to ensure proper connections.
• Look at the Headlight’s Illumination Power - Check the power of your vehicle’s exterior and interior lights. If any of the lights are dim, then your vehicle’s battery may need to be replaced.
• Check for Clicking Sounds - Does your vehicle make a clicking sound at start-up? That could be a sign of a failing battery.
• Is the Battery Light On? - If the battery light is on, then you may need to replace the battery right away.

Inspect All Tires

Make sure you inspect all of your vehicle’s tires to ensure that they are in top shape. Here’s what to do during a tire inspection:

• Check the Tire Pressure - Tires may lose pressure during heavy summer driving. Check the tire pressure and set the pressure at the right level.
• Inspect for Damage - Inspect the tire sidewalls for any cracks. Also, check for any punctures on the tire’s tread.
• Check the Tread - Make sure the tires have 2/32” of tread.

Check Your Wiper Blades

Finally, you will want to check your vehicle’s wiper blades to ensure that they provide the proper visibility level. Be sure to check for the correct amount of rubber on the blades. Also, check to make sure that the wiper blades are not bent.
