Power & Capability: Equinox Over Rogue
It’s true that the Rogue is a tad more efficient than the Equinox with its Direct Injection Gasoline™ (DIG), but that’s not the name of the game for this class of vehicle. SUVs are built with capability in mind, except for the Nissan Rogue, which only makes 181 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque.
On the other hand, the Equinox has the power to tow up to 3,500 pounds of trailer weight when it’s properly equipped, thanks to its 203 lb-ft of torque.
The Equinox also offers available switchable all-wheel drive (AWD), so you can choose between efficient front-wheel drive (FWD) or capable AWD mode. The Rogue gives you an available AWD system, as well, but it does not offer the same efficiency-boosting switching capabilities of the Equinox.
Chevy vs Nissan: Interior Cargo & Comfort
The 2021 Chevy Equinox and the 2021 Nissan Rogue both seat five passengers and have standard split-folding rear seats. Plus, available hands-free tailgate-opening capability is available to make loading up cargo as streamlined as possible.
The Chevy has the upper hand when it comes to fairness, though. You’ll find that the Equinox is much more accommodating for all passengers. With 40.9 inches of front legroom and 39.9 inches of rear legroom, everyone gets roughly the same amount of space.
The Rogue, on the other hand, focuses mainly on front-seat passengers. While you’ll have a spacious 43.3 inches of front legroom in this model, rear-seat passengers will be cramped with just 38.5 inches of legroom.
Technology: Chevy Equinox vs Nissan Rogue

Touchscreen infotainment systems are available in both models, as well, offering turn-by-turn navigation, smartphone integration, and Amazon Alexa integration. One additional feature you’ll get with the Equinox’s infotainment system is Teen Driver technology. You’ll get comprehensive report cards on your new driver’s progress right on the touchscreen display.
Which Crossover SUV Comes Out on Top?
While the Nissan Rogue brings a few great features to the table, we at Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet of Worthington believe it can’t live up to the full package offered by the 2021 Chevy Equinox. Don’t just take our word for it!
