The actual repair, warranty work and recall work went fine and Austin did a nice job keeping me posted on progress. However, the front end frustration was so bad I will likely not be back. I called the number on the website on to set up the appointment and provided all the info. I was told to bring it Monday at 10am for the appointment. I dropped it off Sunday night. Monday morning I received a call asking what was supposed to be done with the vehicle. I gave all that info when making the appointment but nobody seemed to know. I left a message on Monday with the service needs and when I talked to Austin on Tuesday asking for an update he indicated they likely wouldn't get to it until Thursday or Friday. I asked why I had to drop it off on Monday if that was known and was told that in order to get in line for the service work they need the vehicle on the lot. Apparently you don't have the ability to schedule any tighter than that. If there were a loaner car available that would have helped but I was told those were all out with long term loans, some up to 8 months. Therefore, the rental car I had to rent thinking it would be a day or two based on the appointment turned into a 7 day rental and $600. The repairs on the vehicle were only $737. So I nearly doubled the repair cost because I was told I had to have the vehicle on the lot at 10am Monday and there was no possible way to drop it off closer to the service date. My frustration in this situation is through the roof knowing this is a simple scheduling issue. I don't have the expectation that service work is scheduled to the hour or that everything goes as planned but when I talked to someone at the dealer they confidently knew it wouldn't be looked at for another 4-5 days. If that's the case, it's ridiculous to force me to leave it on the lot and incur the cost of the rental car for that period and extremely poor customer service. I bought my new 2018 truck there and would have bought this 2020 truck there but there was none on the lot to buy at the time. This experience and the extra $600 I was forced to spend while my truck sat on your lot for an extra four days, that were not necessary, are extremely frustrating and the reason I will likely not purchase my next vehicle there or return for service.

Had my car in for 30,000 mile service. Someone, cashier I think, gave me a shuttle ride back home because they said it would be at least a couple hours. When the kid came back to pick me up after the work was completed, the service department guy never called or texted me to let me know the shuttle was coming to pick me back up. I was busy at home and didn't see the calls from the shuttle driver when he came to pick me back up. So I have no idea how long the poor kid was waiting outside. After I picked up my car, the check engine light came on after I was at least 30 minutes away from the dealership, and my car was not running properly. The car was running very rough. I took the car back to the dealership, told the same service department guy that my car's check engine light was on, and that it wasn't running right. He said so you're dropping it off. I said no I just left here around an hour or two after service. Oh okay he said I thought I recognized you. So they had a technician look at my car, pull the check engine light code, and said it was common when fuel system cleaner is used. The code was cleared. Next day the check engine light comes back on, and the car isn't running right again. Unfortunately I'm at work, I don't really have time to keep taking my car to the dealership service department every day. Ridiculous.

While waiting for oil change was fine there is no sticker telling me when next oil chang is due only my previous one with Byers was left. Most importantly I wanted windshield wipers as those for a 2024 Trax are hard to fit. Wahlberg was out of stock, but ordered them from another dealership, they expected them May 12th and they would contact me. On May 12, I was not contacted, so I called Wahlberg’s. They couldn’t help, person I needed to talk to not in. It has been over six days, 5/14/25 and no contact from dealership. I’m done with Wahlberg, going back to Byers where I bought my car even though it is a 30 minute drive.

Not well organized. Sent me away from the general service area to the quick lube shop, only to find them with no idea about my appointment, or where the tires ordered ahead time were located. Four tires and alignment took close to three hours, when I was told 90 minutes. Asked me if I wanted to wait for my service work to be done, then 2-1/2 days later my vehicle was done. It was only estimated to take a day. Called the next day and was told it was all finished except for a final leak test drive and would call me back in a little bit. Never heard from anyone. Called near the end of the day to find out the technician and my advisor had both gone home. The person I spoke with said someone would call me first thing in the morning. Finally on day 3 at 11:30 (not my understanding of first thing in the morning) I received a call my vehicle was finished and could be picked up. This all left me quite frustrated without a vehicle and wondering about customer service. Never offered a loaner car or any consideration for lack of what needed to be better communication.

I arrived at your service center at 7:51 a.m. The door sign states the hours of operations start at 8:00 a.m. The lights were off and a man was sitting at the counter. He came to the door and stated "What do you want?". I replied that I was waiting for the door to open at 8:00 a.m., so that I could get an oil change. It was disrespectful and rude how he approached me. Then, he stated that the door was open. I didn't know that since the lights were off and the sign lists the start time as 8:00 a.m.

Johua was great. He listened patiently to two elderly car buyers and answered all of our questions. He even anticipated some questions that we were just in the beginning stages of formulating. He understood when we said that we would like to think it over until the next day. He gave us his phone number so that we could contact him with additional concerns. Joshua is a great asset to the dealership. Our only concern was with the product. The presentation of the 2026 Equinox is very different from the 2018 Equinox which we were replacing. That was to be expected. What was not expected and certainly not appreciated was the absence of an owners guide. It is indeed a poor business practice to have a customer spend $37,000 for an automobile and then be told that an owners guide would be an additional $100+ -- an owners guide which was provided at no additional charge with every new car we have ever purchased.

This was my first time coming to the dealership for service on my car. When I was greeted by one of the customer service representatives, he made comments that he had met me at the bar the previous evening. He said it in a joking manner, but I felt like it was unprofessional for the work environment. I did not receive an update about the work done on my car other than the receipt. In other cases when getting my oil changed, I hear about my car filters, my air pressure in my tires or the wear of my tires, and none of this information was given to me at the time of service. When I entered back into my car, the car smelled like marijuana. This is not a smell that I am used to having in my vehicle, especially when being worked on. When I closed out my bill with the customer service representative, he again make comments about seeing me at the bar later that evening. I will not be returning to this dealership for any future service. This is unfortunate because the other representative was friendly and said they appreciated me coming in.

I was not content with the service. The team provided a timeline of max of 6-10 days. I explained my situation that I didn’t have a car so all I needed was transparency on how long the repair was going to take. 23 days of them sharing different days that the repair would be completed constantly delaying the process. Only until my Mom called they prioritized my repair. Not only did I miss a race that cost $55, but my best friends birthday that was 20 days after I provided the vehicle. I wasn’t mad about the delays it’s just the lack of transparency behind pushing back the repair timeline. I talked with Mike at the body shop about the poor experience and he and I talked about receiving complementary oil changes. I called 4 times and have not heard from Mike for follow-ups. I worked at GM and got my prior maintenance done here and gave ample opportunity for the dealership to make things right.

Unbelievably bad experience. I would not recommend anyone ever deal with Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet of Worthington. Our overall experience included a sales professional that was not empowered who had to check with his boss for negotiations, a disconnected sales and finance experience, a sales manager that talked down to my wife, damage to our brand new car from an unknown source, poor communication at multiple levels of the dealership and a halfway repair with no willingness to make it right. My wife and I have been casually shopping for a new car for her over the last 4 months. Her last new car was a 2016 Honda Pilot that we bought new and she loved. The only thing we were anchored on is that she wanted a full size SUV. We decided on a Chevy Tahoe with the Premier trim and the only thing left to decide was the color. On Aug 7 (Wednesday), she went to Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet in Worthington. Their website identified a number of new Tahoes that were recently shipped to the store. She was supposed to go look at colors. She found the vehicle she wanted and I got engaged with their sales rep, Stephen. The conversation started normal but looking back, there were red flags from the beginning. As he started talking numbers, they had a number of items priced in that we would not need. They had GAAP insurance already in the workup. We weren’t going to need GAAP. We were trading in a car valued at $11k (more on that in a minute) and were going to put down another $15k in cash. They had an insurance policy that would pay out some large amount if the car was stolen. I had never heard of that. I asked him to pull those items. I asked about the payment and rate. Keep in mind that the sticker was ~$82k and the payment he quoted was well over $1,300. I had researched and came to a payment closer to $1,100. I asked again about the rate, he quoted my wife 10.9% without asking about her credit. Her credit score was over 800. I asked about the trade value and he said $9,000. I told him that I had researched Kelly Blue Book and the trade in value was $11,000. He passed me to his General Sales Manager, Jarrod. Jarrod told me that they look at KBB, JDPower, Blackbook and something else and the value was $9,300. Why did they offer $9,000? I logged it and moved on. We worked through as many details as we could as the store was closing. My wife wanted the car so we gave them $1,000 deposit to hold the vehicle until Monday. We were going out of town the next day for a long weekend. I reached out to someone I know that is at another dealership and asked about the trade value. On Thursday morning, he offered me $11,000. He did not know about my research or what Jarrod had offered. I made the decision to sell our car to his dealership and add the proceeds to our down payment. I notified Stephen immediately of our decision to sell the car. He put Jarrod on the phone and Jarrod was upset. He offered to up the offer to $10,500. Both he and Stephen told me about how much I was losing by changing the deal. Ultimately, the accepted our decision. Also on Thursday, after agreeing to terms, my wife completed an online credit application. Within a few minutes I received a call from a lady ( I only spoke to her once and do not remember her name). She was polite and she wanted to know if we had identified a vehicle. She was unaware that we put a deposit down the night before. Once I informed her, she asked me for the VIN. I didn’t have it and referred her to Stephen. After that call, radio silence. I had to reach out to Stephen on Friday to find out if my wife was approved and at what rate. He eventually called me and shared that she was approved and we agreed to do paperwork on Monday. On Monday morning, we went to the other dealer and sold our pilot. There was a check waiting for us. We were in the store, paperwork signed, check in hand driving away in about 10 minutes. We deposited the check at a bank down the street and drove to Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet of Worthington. My wife texted Stephen that we were coming and he said he was ready and that the car was just delivered from their Broad Street store. When we walked in, my wife with our six year old daughter approached Stephen and he didn’t recognize her. He asked her if she needed help. She reminded him of who she was and he walked her to his desk. He was frazzled the entire time. The Tahoe was parked right outside the window facing us. I could see the front of the car. None of our paperwork was ready. He printed a few things for my wife to sign and then took it somewhere else. At one point I walked out and walked around the car. I didn’t notice any damage. I got inside. I played with the seats in the back. I opened the back hatch. I got in and took note of the controls. I went back in and the finance manager came over and talked about rates and payments and then went back to his office. Stephen left in the car to fill up the gas tank. When he came back, he backed the car in. I could no longer see the front of the car. We were there for about 2 hours. Stephen ate part of his lunch at his desk. No one offered us water or refreshments of any kind. Remember, we had our 6 year old with us. We eventually went back to finance and signed paperwork. Afterward, we went outside, my wife and daughter took a picture with Stephen in front of the car that he was going to post to facebook and tag my wife. Stephen and my wife got into the front seat and started going over controls. I left with my 6 year old to get her lunch. When my wife got home she parked in the driveway in front of the garage. I opened the garage door and immediately noticed a dent the size of a golf ball in the hood. I asked her if she hit something and she said no. The dent was large enough that if she hit something, she couldn’t have missed the noise. She contacted Stephen right away. She now has a brand new $80+k car with a large dent in the hood but is ecstatic that she has a new car. I was dismayed and wanted to get it fixed. I opened the passenger door and removed the paper floor mats that come in new cars and noticed that there were no floor mats. We had paid for premium floor liners. I texted Stephen and got no response. Stephen ultimately got back to my wife and told her that the dealership would fix the dent and that they would let us know when it would happen and provide a loaner car. He said there were no loaners available so it might be a week or so. He also shared with her that he got in trouble because he didn’t walk around the vehicle with my wife before she left. On Tuesday, I followed up with Stephen asking about the floor liners and if he had any better estimate on the timing of the repair. He never responded. Later on Tuesday, Stephen reached out to my wife and told her that she could come in at 9:30 on Wednesday for the repair and it would take an hour or so. She was on time for the appointment and they repaired the dent…sort of. There was no longer a dent but there was a chip in the paint. She said that wasn’t acceptable so Stephen asked Jarrod to talk to her. Jarrod told her that the repair was complete, that once she drove off the lot the dent was her problem and the dealership met her half way by repairing the dent. He would help get a paint quote if she wanted it but the paint was our responsibility. I want to be clear that this is a very small chip in the paint. But this is a brand new car, 3 days old, that cost us a lot of money and we don’t want any imperfections. I called Jarrod and he still has not called me back. I called the General Manager, Shawn, who still has not called me back. I emailed Shawn with the details of the issue, mentioning that I don’t want a damaged relationship and that I only want them to complete the repair. I mentioned that Jarrod had talked down to my wife and that I thought that was inappropriate. Shawn replied. He apologized but stood by Jarrod and the decision not to finish the repair but did offer to split any future paint repair. I responded to his email and asked for a call back. I sit here another day later with no response.

Hello, please note in my file, car will be returned for maintenance due to all TPM systems on each tire are now not registering. Initially only one, passenger rear was not reading. I had an appointment for 10:30am when I arrived police cars were all over the parking lot for some incident that occurred before I got there. The talk was about a stolen vehicle I heard. More importantly, the young man asked what the appointment was for. I said I’m here for my oil change which is what I wrote in the service notes. Then he asked which oil change and gave 3 different options. Good, Better, or best. Well, as a loyal customer I know darn well an oil change does not start out at $139.00 and up. I said I usually pay $79.00 to $89.00. The young man said oh yes we have those too. I shook my head because I felt like they were deceiving their customers. I sat there the whole time listening to them do this to all of the customers it was sickening. I even told them that they were deceiving customers and they said we have to do it like that. I will never go back there again. I may never even buy a car from you guys again. The entire experience was terrible.

I brought my truck in for service because the backup camera has never worked since I purchased it from this dealership. I was told a new camera would be ordered, but after several weeks of no communication, I had to call to follow up. They said it would arrive by Wednesday—again, no update. I dropped the truck off Sunday night and called Thursday to check in. The service rep couldn’t locate my vehicle, and another employee acted like I was inconveniencing him by asking for an update. He said it could be several more days before the truck was even looked at. Only after I insisted that this was unacceptable did he call back and say it would be ready the next morning. The next day, I got a call from Nick who said he was “returning my call” but didn’t know my name or why he was calling. It was clear no one had briefed him. We picked up the truck Friday evening—and the backup camera still doesn’t work.

I had an appointment for an oil change at 10:00 am and showed up early. I also had an email from a curent (now former) quick service manager for a free oil change from last spring. The currentt quick service manager said that he would not honorthe free oil change because the issuer did not understand teh previous service was not a duplicate. The current manager said he could give a huge discount but not provide a free oil change. He siad he could charge 50$ (which was less than a 50% discount. I reluctantly agreed. Then, I had to wait 1 1/2 hours before the oil change was completed. I will not bring our Malibu back to this dealer for any future service.

I was a customer of Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet of Worthington for several years, buying cars and having service done. I was satisfied with their service in the past but was very disappointed with my most recent visit and have lost all confidence in the dealer’s service department. On October 17th I called for an appointment for my 2024 Blazer because I was hearing unusual noises from under the car when breaking to a stop or starting from a stop. The appointment was set for the morning of Thursday, October 23rd and I dropped the car off the day before. When I spoke to the service advisor, he mentioned that they would not likely be able to look at the vehicle for a day or two after the appointment time. I wondered why they take appointments if they can’t honor them but left the vehicle hoping for the best. On the afternoon of Monday, October 27th I texted the service advisor who responded that “the vehicle is currently dispatched to one of my technicians” and “once I receive an update, I will reach out immediately”. I texted again for an update on Tuesday afternoon and received no response. I texted again on Wednesday afternoon and received a response of “…still waiting…trying our best…see if I cannot to expedite”. I texted again Thursday to see if there was any progress and didn’t get any response by Friday October 31st, 8 days after my appointment. I decided to go in and pick up the Blazer that day. When I arrived, I was told my service advisor would not be in until Monday, so another advisor offered to help. I told him that I would like my vehicle back and he then tried to find its location on the lot. He concluded after some time that it had not been dispatched to a technician! I asked if it was unusual for a vehicle that had been there for 8 days to not be dispatched. I was honestly expecting some kind of apology or at least an excuse but what I got was “no, this place is a complete disaster”. I wish the story was over, but it is not. I made an appointment for the following week at another local dealer. When they diagnosed the symptom, they discovered that a transmission mount had not been re-seated properly and an ECM module was not remounted when Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet of Worthington did warranty service on the transmission earlier. Not only were they unable to fix the issue, but they were the cause.

Service advisor told me later arrivals were done before mine because it was more difficult to find the filter and oil for my 2500 Duramax than the cars(really). Poor communication up front and then a weak or false excuse on why our vehicle wasn't, at least, even completed in appointment alignment.

Brought my equinox in to fix a leak in my trunk and replace a broken sunroof motor. Initial diagnostic and repairs took 3 days. Came in to get my car, drove down to the first light headed east on 161 and came back as my sunroof was not opening with a one-touch button as it did before. Was told it needed to be reprogrammed and would take 15 mins. 3 hrs later, I was told the motor died that was replaced and needed to be replaced again. Left my car over the weekend and came back on Monday after paying for a secondary motor. Fast forward 2 days, it poured rain and found water inside my car again, after paying to clean the drain holes and advise the leak was fixed. Brought my car back a second time. I reached out 5 days later, was told the sunroof seal was damaged and needed to be replaced. Paid for the seal AND labor a second time.. even though I paid labor and diagnostic the first time when I was told the drain was clogged and caused a leak. Service advisor did wave the second diagnostic fee, which felt right but I’m not satisfied that I had to bring my car back twice after initial diagnostic and payed for labor 2x.

This 2013 chevy cruz has had 4 thermostats put in it, 3 by Wahlberg's. The last one has only been in for 2 years. The tech said the car needed a fluid flush done, however, a fluid flush was done within the the last two years when the thermostat was replaced the last time. We bought this car from Wahlberg's 6/12/21 at 92K miles, new thermostat was put in by Wahlberg's 12/14/22 at 103K miles. The next thermostat was put in by Wahlberg's 12/18/25 at 129K miles. When we brought the car in this last time on 12/18/25, no issue with the heater hose, but then while working on the car, tech said heater hose started to leak and needed replace(just another $300) in repairs for the heater hose, that wasn't leaking when we brought it in! Amongst the not so great text messages from the Wahlberg team where commas were missing leading to the first set of many questions we had - as the first text message read the "water pump over flow bottle and thermostat needs replaced, along with servicing the coolant system. $2148 + tax". Of course our initial question was how in the world does it cost $2148 to replace a plastic over flow bottle and thermostat? When the last time we had the thermostat replaced it was only $751 along with the coolant flush! Then was told, sorry forgot to use proper grammar, needed a comma after water pump. Either Wahlberg's are getting really good at ripping their customers off, or the 2013 Chevy Cruze thermostat is a real issue and should be addressed by GM or Chevy or Wahlberg's? As I know 2 other friends of mine who own Chevy Cruze's, a 2013 and a 2016, they don't seem to have any thermostat issues...

Car was towed to the shop on a Tuesday and the appt was made for Wednesday. I was told it needed two new key fobs that would cost around $1100 with towing. I told them to do the work the following Monday. A week later the car still wasn’t done and then I was told it wasn’t the key fob but the battery module. That made more sense. I told them when they got the car that it was fine until we took the battery out and that’s when it wouldn’t start. They had it fixed in a day so why did it take two weeks to get my car back? Just frustrating when your daily driver is broke down and it didn’t seem like anyone took that into consideration!
